Universities, academic research centres and Space Industry companies are challenged to find a team of four to establish the right of their institution to be called Masters of UK Space. The challenge is intended to be fun, but also to test knowledge, ingenuity and teamwork. It is intended that students in particular will benefit from the chance to present at an academic conference in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
The Masters of UK Space competition has three disciplines. Teams are required to field a minimum of four members. The team will tackle making a joint presentation of a scientific research topic of their choice connected to space. There will be a general knowledge quiz, a Mars Rover challenge, and a water rocket challenge.
The challenge will take place at the UK Space Conference being held at Charterhouse School from March 27-29th. There will also be a careers fair on the 29th organised by the Royal Aeronautical Society and UK Students for the Exploration and Development of Space.
Students will also be able to attend presentations by leading figures in Astronomy and Space Science and the Space Industry. Speakers include David Williams (Director General of the BNSC), David Southwood (Head of Science at ESA), Sir Martin Sweeting, Reg Turnhill and Major General Joe Engle (NASA Astronaut).
This is your chance to find out what's going on now, what opportunities there are, and will be in the future. Come and join us and LET'S GET THE PARTY STARTED!
